SEYMOUR GOLF CLUB

-

Wednesday was a great day for golf and the course was near perfect. Sue McCall (24) made the best use of the good conditions to score 36 points and win the women’s competition.

The extra competition was the best even holes score and that also went to Sue McCall with 18 points.

The ball pool went to Sue McCall, Paula Britton and Dale Stuart (28 points).

In the men’s stableford competition, John Mundy (19) had the top score of the day to win B-grade with a terrific 41 points.

The A-grade winner was Dave Pearce (3) with a good score of 39 points. He was highly accurate, winning three of the nearest to the pins, on the fourth, 12th and 17th, while the sixth was claimed by Luke Rogan.

A score of 33 points was needed for a ball and those went to John Mundy, Dave Pearce, Luke Rogan, Phil Jarvis and Matt O’Sullivan.

On Thursday a few of the women competed in the Dalhousie district foursomes event at Euroa, with some success. It was a warm but windy day, which made scoring well a bit difficult, so a scratch score of 86 to win the main event was a good effort from Di Byrne, who teamed up with Terri O’Callaghan from Trentham.

The pair of Glenda Woods and Paula Britton won the best handicap score of the day with

96-18=78.

In stark contrast to Wednesday, the conditions on Saturday were colder and heavier after the recent rain. There was only a men’s competition on the day, and Ian Richardson (7) negotiated

the course best to win with 39 points. The runner-up was Bill Schaeffer-Steele (12) with 35 points.

The nearest to the pin on the fourth was Roger Edwards and on the sixth it was Bill SchaefferSteele, with the 12th and

17th both going to Ian Richardson. The drive and pitch on the eighth was won by Kayne Falconer, and on the 15th it was Ian Richardson.

The ball pool went to Ian Richardson, Bill SchaefferSteele, John Boruch,

Sean Boland and Kayne Falconer with 33 points.

The social six holes on Friday is par, over holes one to six.

On Saturday the men will play a par round while the women’s competition is stableford.
