Co-showrunner kevin Etten explains, “as Ghosted goes on, you’ll find out exactly why they were recruited. initially you find out leroy [Robinson] is this disgraced laPd detective. max [Scott] is a former astrophysicist who believes his wife was abducted by aliens. at first, Captain lafray [ally Walker], who runs the bureau, gets a message from an agent who has disappeared and asks for leroy and max as they can help find him. it’s left as a mystery but hopefully as the season progresses we’ll learn more and more.”

as to the origins of the show, creator/showrunner tom gormican says Ghosted was created with Craig and adam attached from the start. “they are actual executive producers of the show as they are in every meeting, additional casting, the script meetings and are super involved. We thought the idea of a show that takes place in the multi-verse was a cool place to start. it’s got a grounded feel to things they are investigating week to week, but creating a larger mythology that could expand over space and time, hopefully, over a few seasons. We are able to create different kinds of aliens, different kinds of travel, from an astrophysical perspective, but also from a made up place. there will be standalone episodes and then fully mythology-based episodes like the X-Files.”
