Wars universe tend to happen in threes, but not so with Star

Wars rebels, the fourth (and final) season of which, dave filoni describes to SFX as “the best”.

“there’s a lot going on,” says the show’s co-creator and executive producer. “there’s some complexity to the story this year, and we have a couple of different paths following the characters, which will resolve. We’ve done a good job of bringing this story to its conclusion. We’d never really gotten to do that before, with

Clone Wars ending a little bit more abruptly than we had planned. So we get to a nice sense of completion to what i believe this series promises in the very beginning with Ezra Bridger and his path to being a Jedi.”

filoni explains that the show’s ever more

Last serialised nature allows for a richer story.

“this season is different from other seasons in that from about the fifth episode on it is one continuous story. the stories build and build and build. there were two major threads to complete in the first four episodes. Once we’ve dealt with those two things it really goes full bore with Ezra and what Ezra needs to accomplish, related to the kanan and to the force.”

as for those X-wings featured in the season’s trailer, filoni remarks, “the space battle we have in this fourth season is the best we’ve ever done. i don’t know if John knoll’s magic in

rogue One has rubbed off on us, but i think the fans will be happy.”
