Here’s an idea that’s been waiting to happen: since an awful lot of Stephen King’s books are either set in or namecheck the fictional town of Castle Rock, why not tie the entire King-verse into one horror series set in the town. And then populate it with characters from various King novels and get them interacting? Making things even more meta, the stars from two of King’s most celebrated screen hits – Sissy Spacek (Carrie in Carrie) and Bill Skarsgård (Pennywise in 2017’s
IT) – have major roles in the series. JJ Abrams is executive producer and Stephen King has happily let the show’s writers play in his sandpit for the 10-part series.
