After the dire movie and a failed TV pilot directed by Jon Woo, now Netflix is having a go at rebooting Irwin Allen’s campy ’60s space opera without, we suspect, any talking carrots (though a talking carrot Easter egg would go down a storm). Toby Stephens, Molly Parker, Taylor Russell, Mina Sundwall and Maxwell Jenkins star as the space family Robison with Parker Posey as an interesting new take on the untrustworthy Dr Smith and a new build for the Robot.
Prison Break’s Zack Estrin is the showrunner, and Neil Marshall (Dog Soldiers and various big battle episodes of Game Of Thrones) is directing a few episodes, so, no, we’re not expecting “campy”.
