Wheels), and released in 1995, this threequel was developed as a follow-up to Craven’s hit property but turned itself into something else during pre-production. emerging from the desert dust under the title Mind Ripper – its most common name – the story veers further into sci-fi territory with a story of a hulking mutant madman created by scientists located in the California sands. A lack of holdover characters, however, makes its new moniker perfectly understandable.
