Your thoughts on Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and other matters of import.

Gary Mancini, Facebook Loved it. Great performances, exciting action and it was even heartbreaking in one scene. It’s a definite film of two halves: the first traditional Jurassic fare, escaping running dinosaurs, the second more like a horror movie. But how that second half ends makes me excited for Jurassic World 3.

Jodie Iles, email Fallen Kingdom may be pretty shallow stuff – especially after the initial setup, which promises a deeper look at man’s interaction with the environment – but it’s reasonable popcorn entertainment and, dare I say it, more fun than that other summer blockbuster Solo.

Rees Muir, email Instead of having American actors playing Brits and Brits playing Americans, why not just have Brits playing Brits and Americans playing Americans...? SFX I think we should be more concerned about real dinosaurs losing acting gigs to CGI. Come on, guys, unionise!

William Davies, Facebook Great action, emotional scenes, great cast, great villains and super badass dinosaurs!

Ashley Beeching, Facebook The dire trailer was enough to put me off. That and the previous insipid film…

John Stewart, Facebook They stole the story from Scooby Doo! SFX Zoinks!

Leticia Dennis, email I liked it. I was expecting the same as the other films, dinosaurs chasing people round a big park or island, but at least it went to a few different places. And there was me thinking I’d never see a dumb waiter used like that in a movie again...

Olly Dalby, email So the last scene leaves us expecting a sequel – but you know what, I think they should quit now. A sixth film in the series would be pushing it, I reckon. While I’m not exactly bored with seeing incredibly rendered dinosaurs on the rampage, I’m no longer dazzled like I once was.

Dom Little, email The scene with a tranquilised Chris Pratt trying to get out of the way of the lava flow was almost Hitchcockian in its suspense – terrific!

Setting the second half in the Old Dark House was masterful

the BBC news bulletin reads: “US President questions existence of dinosaurs in the first place.” Heh.

Keith Tudor, email As much fun as Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom was at the cinema, it was such a shame that so much had been revealed in the trailers leading up to its release. Trailers these days feel more like a “Previously on...” type of recap where all the key plot points are revealed. I wish they’d keep more back for exciting reveals as you watch the film as it would make for a better viewing experience.

Martin Horn, email I took the whole family as Molz our daughter is a big fan, but we all came away thinking, “Yeah, not bad, I liked the bit when...” rather than “Wow!”

Tom Gray, Facebook It was entertaining, I’ll give it that much. Shame it was all built around spectacle, though. The characters were only there to serve the set-pieces and weren’t given much in the way of script aside from one or two good lines that were already in the trailers. And the post-credit scene is pointless. It adds nothing, unless it’s slyly showing where the third film will be set but I wouldn’t bet on it.

Bob Pierce, email The second half provided a change. Setting it in the Old Dark House was masterful, and I want to see dinosaurs running amok in the cities. Bring on the next one!

Simon Willder, email I enjoyed the latest Jurassic World film even if it was far from perfect. I would have liked to see more of the action on the island while the moral debate is still on-going, perhaps with a fleet of warships blockading the island. That would have made Malcolm’s scenes more crucial and add a growing sense of urgency to get off the island (with or without the dinos). Instead going to the island when it is about to erupt feels like the first of a very long list of bad ideas, like stepping into a confined space with a T-rex/ Indoraptor, and oh, making a weapon out of a dino AGAIN. SFX The day people in the movies start making smart decisions is the day the last cinema shutters…
