CAN THE WINCHESTER BOYS GET IT TOGETHER AGAIN?

THe fourteenth season of supernatural begins right where the previous season’s finale left off, with dean (Jensen ackles) possessed by the archangel michael (Christian Keyes). that leaves the winchester brothers separated… again. executive producer andrew dabb says this unique scenario forces sam (Jared padalecki) to step-up into a leadership role to get his brother back. “sam has dealt with dean being gone before, but that wasn’t a malicious thing,” dabb says. “there are more insidious things going on with michael. sam knows his brother is in trouble and that, even if they get the chance to kill michael, dean could die as well, so there’s a lot riding on him more than ever before.” and for those worried Jensen will be mia for a large part of the season, dabb says fear not. “Having dean not be dean for one episode is fun. two episodes is kinda fun. for three episodes, you’re asking, ‘where is the dean i miss?’ so, even when dean is back, we’ll be exploring things that happened while he was michael in flashbacks, so we’ll see dean as michael more than you think.” another new dynamic is the mentorship role Castiel (misha Collins) will take with the power-stripped Jack (alexander Calvert). dabb says, “He’s literally a year old and dealing with a lot of things he’s never had to deal with before. He’s never had to throw a punch before and decapitate a vampire. He has to learn the family business.” and that’s where Cas steps in. “Jack and Cas have a lot in common, the difference is that Cas got his powers back and Jack doesn’t know if he will.”
