Yet another book about Joss Whedon’s short-lived space Western. We make it at least the eighth by Titan!

A large-format volume, it’s in four sections. The first covers the storylines (including the movie’s).

The second provides biographies of the characters and actors.

The third focuses on the wider universe: the systems, weapons and ships, a guide to the Mandarin spoken in the show, and so on.

The final section presents short script excerpts, with analysis.

If you already have a shelf full of Firefly books, it’s questionable whether you need this one. It’s heavy on synopsis early on, and much of the imagery is familiar.

The occasional use of screengrabs blown up to fill spaces as large as two pages doesn’t look that good, either.
