From The Monkey’s Paw to Wishmaster, wishing for things in horror movies has always been a dangerous game. Whoever conjured this Blumhouse-lite saga got the inevitable bum deal, an unnecessary chiller which isn’t even clear about its own rules. Michael Welch stars as the estranged son who returns home after his dad’s death and unearths a cursed urn. Lin Shaye is classy-crazy as his grieving mum, but even she can’t make up for the dodgy dialogue. We wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Rosie Fletcher
