Even now, there are more books coming out than we can review! In Simon Stephenson’s debut SET MY HEART TO FIVE (28 May, Fourth Estate), an android called Jared undergoes an emotional awakening. Simon Pegg has called it “A beautiful, funny, heartfelt analysis of what it means to be human”, apparently, and his old mucker Edgar Wright is lined up to direct a movie version. King of the novelisations Alan Dean Foster is behind STAR TREK: THE UNSETTLING STARS (out now, Pocket Books). Set in the Abramsverse, it sees Kirk and co aiding a colony ship full of alien refugees who are under siege from an unknown enemy. But why are they being attacked, eh? A prequel to new videogame Predator: Hunting Ground (reviewed on page 92), PREDATOR: STALKING SHADOWS

(26 May, Titan) bridges Predator 2 and the present-day continuity, following US Marine Scott Devlin as he discovers hidden truths, clandestine agencies and savage opponents… y’know, all the good stuff. Turning to continuing series: the lives of Rielle and Tyen continue to unfold in MAKER’S CURSE (21 May, Orbit). In this concluding fourth book in Trudi Canavan’s Millennium’s Rule saga, the restorer of worlds and the former spy must reunite to save humanity from a dark threat… Finally, Giles Kristian has followed up his Arthurian novel Lancelot with CAMELOT (out now, Bantam). Set in a Britain riven by anarchy, slaughter, famine, filth, darkness, and the scarcity of chopped tomatoes (okay, we made that bit up), it centres on Galahad as he comes to terms with his legacy as Lancelot’s lad.
