DARREN SCOTT EDITOR RAVES
What an absolute joy Worzel Gummidge is, it’s just delightful. Here’s hoping they make even more.
Hawkeye is the best Marvel series so far. Who’d have thought it!
Loving The Book Of Boba Fett – Hoojibs! – but please stop comparing it to The Mandalorian. You know who you are.
RANTS
Really enjoyed Transformers: War For Cybertron but I found the final part of the trilogy difficult to engage with.
IAN BERRIMAN DEPUTY EDITOR RAVES
Finally catching up with The Umbrella Academy (I know, I know) and am loving it.
To accompany folk horror doc Woodlands Dark And Days Bewitched, Shudder is streaming some interesting obscurities, like Alison’s Birthday and Eyes Of Fire.
I shouldn’t be excited that Talking Pictures is showing The Outer Limits (Fridays at 8.00pm), as I have the DVD box set. But I am!
JONATHAN COATES ART EDITOR RAVES
A lovely little nod to the original at the end of the remake of The Amazing Mr Blunden, with the cast saying goodbye to the viewers.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife was so enjoyable! Hope it might pave the way for a live-action TV series as well as a sequel.
Would love to see an elderly, whiskered Jar Jar Binks feature in a future episode of
The Mandalorian. RANTS
I’d give The Book Of Boba Fett five stars straight away for not featuring that Sarlacc beak! Brrr.
ED RICKETTS PRODUCTION EDITOR RAVES
Someone bought me the restored Blu-ray of Fright (1971) for Christmas, and I’m amazed I hadn’t heard of it. Strong stuff for the time and a brilliant performance by Ian Bannon.
Having finally gone back and finished Dying Light, I’m now ready for the sequel to be released. Stomping zombie heads never gets boring. Well, maybe just a little bit.
NICK SETCHFIELD EDITOR-AT-LARGE RAVES
Currently reading All Of The Marvels by Douglas Wolk, an engrossing, insightful dive into the complete output of Marvel Comics. Yes, he read them all (almost). There should be a medal!
Enjoying The Book Of Boba Fett. The Tusken Raiders always fascinated me, so it’s great to see their culture explored.
TARA BENNETT US EDITOR RAVES
There’s not enough fun sci-fi these days, so if you need a laugh, binge season one of Resident Alien and then jump into season two. Alan Tudyk and the whole cast continue to make it an under-the-radar gem.
Horror fans: seek out Yellowjackets. Smart, surprising, sometimes grisly and features one of the best female-led casts in a long time.
