Auc­tion­eers bid to be best

An auc­tion­eer from Tatura and one from Euroa have been named as two of 10 fi­nal­ists in the 2018 Aus­tralian Live­stock and Prop­erty Agents As­so­ci­a­tion Vic­to­rian Young Auc­tion­eers Com­pe­ti­tion.

Tatura’s Ja­cob Bren­nan, from Mulc­ahy Nel­son Live­stock, and Joe Allen from Elders Euroa, will rep­re­sent their towns and agen­cies in the 29th edi­tion of the com­pe­ti­tion, which will be held on Septem­ber 10.

Com­peti­tors will sell com­mer­cial cat­tle that are judged as part of the Royal Mel­bourne Show’s Prime Stock Com­pe­ti­tion.

The 10 fi­nal­ists will be com­pet­ing for the ti­tle of 2018 ALPA Vic­to­rian Young Auc­tion­eer as well as the Gra­ham Lanyon Shield.

The win­ner and run­ner-up will also have the op­por­tu­nity to proudly rep­re­sent Vic­to­ria at the 2019 ALPA Na­tional Young Auc­tion­eers Com­pe­ti­tion, held in Syd­ney at the Royal Easter Show next April.

The 2018 ALPA Young Auc­tion­eers Com­pe­ti­tion will be held on Mon­day, Septem­ber 10, from 11.30 am at the Vic­to­rian Live­stock Ex­change, Pak­en­ham.
