Auctioneers bid to be best
An auctioneer from Tatura and one from Euroa have been named as two of 10 finalists in the 2018 Australian Livestock and Property Agents Association Victorian Young Auctioneers Competition.
Tatura’s Jacob Brennan, from Mulcahy Nelson Livestock, and Joe Allen from Elders Euroa, will represent their towns and agencies in the 29th edition of the competition, which will be held on September 10.
Competitors will sell commercial cattle that are judged as part of the Royal Melbourne Show’s Prime Stock Competition.
The 10 finalists will be competing for the title of 2018 ALPA Victorian Young Auctioneer as well as the Graham Lanyon Shield.
The winner and runner-up will also have the opportunity to proudly represent Victoria at the 2019 ALPA National Young Auctioneers Competition, held in Sydney at the Royal Easter Show next April.
The 2018 ALPA Young Auctioneers Competition will be held on Monday, September 10, from 11.30 am at the Victorian Livestock Exchange, Pakenham.
