OAKS DAY CELEBRATED
ANNUAL OAKS DAY CELEBRATIONS PROVE A BIG HIT
East Shepparton Bowls Club was full of fashion and frivolity for the annual Oaks Day celebrations yesterday.
Two hundred and twenty-six people dressed up in their best to attend the event, raising funds for the bowls club as well as local charities Riding for the Disabled Association and the Shepparton Parkinson’s Peer Support Group.
The day included a raffle and sweeps and a Fashions on the Field contest.
Irene Damianopoulos won the women’s contest and Joe Cammaratta took out the men’s section.
The event has raised $16 000 for charity during the past four years.
Hats off to the day: Maureen O’Connor enjoyed a glass of bubbles at the event.
