East Shep­par­ton Bowls Club was full of fash­ion and fri­vol­ity for the annual Oaks Day cel­e­bra­tions yes­ter­day.

Two hun­dred and twenty-six peo­ple dressed up in their best to at­tend the event, rais­ing funds for the bowls club as well as lo­cal char­i­ties Rid­ing for the Dis­abled As­so­ci­a­tion and the Shep­par­ton Parkin­son’s Peer Sup­port Group.

The day in­cluded a raf­fle and sweeps and a Fash­ions on the Field con­test.

Irene Dami­anopou­los won the women’s con­test and Joe Cam­maratta took out the men’s sec­tion.

The event has raised $16 000 for char­ity dur­ing the past four years.

Hats off to the day: Maureen O’Con­nor en­joyed a glass of bub­bles at the event.
