Colour­ful fun run raises funds

Tal­ly­ga­roopna Pri­mary School stu­dent Nicholas Church took a colour­ful blast from both sides dur­ing a fun run at the school yesterday to raise money for new sports equip­ment.

Tal­ly­ga­roopna Pri­mary School stu­dents, par­ents and fu­ture stu­dents coloured their spir­its yesterday to raise money for new sport­ing equip­ment.

The school’s oval was set to im­press with sprin­klers turned on, a va­ri­ety of ob­sta­cle cour­ses and a lot of coloured pow­der to share.

School busi­ness man­ager Karen Arm­strong said it was won­der­ful to see all the ex­cite­ment in­clud­ing a spe­cial visit from County Cham­pi­onship crick­eter Ryan Side­bot­tom and Aus­tralian rules foot­ball player Steele Side­bot­tom.

‘‘The boys at­tended the school and now have a niece who at­tends and a nephew who will be at­tend­ing next year so they are still very much a part of our com­mu­nity,’’ Ms Arm­strong said.

Star Colling­wood mid­fielder Steele Side­bot­tom re­turned to his old school for some fun.
