Zooming in on electric cars
BENEATH THE WISTERIA TO VIRTUALLY HOST TECH SCHOOL DIRECTOR GRAEME WIGGINS
Shepparton residents have the chance tomorrow to hear about how electric cars are set to be an integral part of their future.
However, the discussion won’t be about shiny new Teslas, but rather about an older car being converted to become part of our electric future.
And someone who understands that transformation from the traditional internal combustion engine car to a modern electric people-mover will be the guest at Shepparton’s Beneath the Wisteria tomorrow.
Bendigo Tech School director Graeme Wiggins will tell those who join the Zoom meeting about his school’s program which has been set up to convert an ageing Range Rover into a Tesla-powered all-electric car.
Such projects are not necessarily all that unusual, but Mr Wiggins’ 26 students from secondary schools across Bendigo are all girls.
Mr Wiggins is an innovation and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics) thought leader who creates active learning communities aligned with technology and enterprise skills to grow entrepreneurial mindsets.
He is a globally recognised designer of dynamic, technology-rich STEAM learning spaces.
Mr Wiggins’ professional focus is codesigning exciting STEAM learning programs in partnership with industry, schools and community.
● Mr Wiggins will join Beneath the Wisteria at 11 am tomorrow and you can be a part of the conversation via Zoom, at https://bit.ly/ 2VMfs9p
