Double chance on line for Lions against Swans

- By Tyler Maher

There will be differing goals for Seymour and the Shepparton Swans when the outfits take to the field in Goulburn Valley League action tomorrow.

The Lions take to Kings Park in search of a victory that would keep them in the hunt for a crucial double chance.

Ben Davey’s troops sit third, equal on points with Euroa and Echuca above them — but with a percentage which would see them needing to secure wins against the Swans and then Tatura in the final fortnight of the home and away season and hope the Magpies or Murray Bombers drop a game.

Josh Alford and Hudson Kaak continued their stellar respective seasons for Seymour at the weekend in a loss to Mooroopna, with the latter booting four goals in the clash.

Shane Skidmore also slotted three majors in the defeat, and will again be important this weekend against the Swans.

On the flipside, the Swans tomorrow will be looking for a pride-inducing triumph over the Lions. With finals off the cards for Paul Hawke’s charges, building some momentum to finish this year’s campaign is high on the list of importance for the young group.

Will Dwyer’s three goals caught the eye last week in a loss to Rochester, while Quade Johnstone, BJ Squire and Andrew Riordan were also impressive.
