COVID-19 VACCINATION UPDATE

-

As of Wednesday, August 25, eligibility for COVID-19 vaccinations at sites run by the Victorian Government expanded.

This includes our Shepparton Vaccination Hub and sub-hubs at Kilmore District Health, NCN Health — Cobram, Mansfield District Hospital and Seymour Health.

People aged 16 and over are now eligible to receive the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine at any of these sites, as are people aged 12–15 years old who have a medical condition or who are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

People aged 18 to 39 who have already booked for their first vaccine dose at a vaccination centre will be offered the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

You do not need to rebook or change your existing vaccine appointment at a vaccination centre.

People who have already had a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine will be offered a second dose of the same vaccine brand.

We have a number of vaccination bookings available at our Shepparton hub at the McIntosh Centre, Shepparton Showgrounds.

Please note — we do not provide COVID-19 testing at the McIntosh Centre. The drive-through COVID-19 testing site is on the east side of the showgrounds in the Multipurpose Pavilion.

To date, the vaccination program has progressed steadily. There has been an increase in recent weeks as eligibility has expanded and currently the Shepparton Vaccination Hub has been averaging between 500 and 700 vaccinations a day.

The week of August 15 to 21 was our busiest week to date with 7000 vaccinations administered across the GVLPHU, 4000 of which were administered at the Shepparton Vaccination Hub — an average of more than 650 across the six days.

This takes the total vaccinations administered across the GVLPHU to more than 65,000.

The Shepparton hub has extended opening hours on Tuesdays — until 8 pm — and will be open tomorrow, August 28, from 9 am to 4 pm.

If you have a booking and are currently under stay-at-home orders, you cannot attend your vaccination appointment and will need to re-book your appointment for a time after your isolation period.

To make a booking, visit coronavirus. vic.gov.au/vaccine or call the Victorian Coronavirus Hotline on 1800 675 398 (option 1 — option 1 — option 1).
