Mooroopna roadworks set to hit traffic

Construction of new traffic calming measures and a roundabout will disrupt traffic on Elizabeth St, Mooroopna, from today.

Renewal of the pavement between Park St and McKean St and construction of a new roundabout at the intersection of Elizabeth St and Ann St will continue until late November.

The roundabout works are part of the Mooroopna Local Area Traffic Management Study which was developed last year following community consultation in late 2019.

Feedback from the community highlighted concerns about traffic volumes and driver behaviour in the area east of Echuca Rd and north of McLennan St.

The construction of a roundabout at the Elizabeth St and Ann St intersection was identified as a high priority to be followed by further traffic calming measures.

The construction works will be done Monday to Friday from 7 am until 6 pm. Temporary alternative routes will be sign posted during the works for through traffic.
