Get your craft on with Making It

-

Dubbed the “craftiest show on television”, Making it Australia throws expert judges in with comedic hosts, adds a large helping of talented competitors, sprinkles a little bit of glitter and turns this new-to-Australia craft show into a roaring success.

Combining a huge range of crafts from welding to macrame, Making it Australia brings together a diverse group of talented amateur and professional makers from all walks of life in a competition of incredible talent.

Each maker will compete in two challenges per episode and by the end of the series, only one talented person will be the craftiest and have earned the title of Master Maker and a $100,000 prize.

Accomplished comedians Susie Youssef and Harley Breen will host the show, alongside judges Benja Harney (a paper artist and creative) and Deborah Riley (a film and TV art department specialist who has previous worked on hits like The Matrix and Game of Thrones).

Susie Youssef said watching the creatives experiment was just one element that took her by surprise during filming.

“Throughout the series, they learned a lot from each other, and you see people adapting and learning and trying out new things,” she said.

She also hopes the series will bring a bit of brightness and creativity to those under lockdowns.

“What’s really great about the show is that part of it is an escape — it’s a bright, colourful, very ridiculous show about craft with heaps of comedy and laughs in it.

“But I also hope that people take away a bit of inspiration.”

Making it Australia airs on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm on channel 10 and 10play.
