Trotters take centre stage

EYES WILL BE ON SQUAREGAIT­ERS TONIGHT AT SHEPPARTON WHEN THEY CONTEST THREE FEATURE EVENTS

Trotters are in the spotlight at tonight’s Shepparton meeting with three features for the squaregait­ers.

The Group Two $25,000

Saddleworl­d Shepparton Trotters Cup, the $12,000 Shepparton Trotters Oaks and the $12,000 Abrahams Two Year Old Trotters Classic are the features on the 10-race card.

Some of Australia’s top trotters including Majestuoso, Pink Galahs, Sleepee, Sundons Courage and Havehorse will travel are contesting the Trotters Cup.

Underrated David Aiken trained mare Aldebaran Crescent,

who will come from barrier six off the front row, is the only northern Victorian prepared runner in the start studded field.

In the Trotters Oaks Kyabram-trained Senitas Success,

prepared by Mick Blackmore, and the Dennis Paton trained Sheza Pleasure hold the hopes of a district win.

Senitas Success has to contend with an outside front row draw, while Sheza Pleasure has drawn favourably in barrier four off the front row.

The Classic has a field of six young trotters with the exciting Peter Manning-trained Plymouth Chubb chasing six straight wins the one to beat.
