THE WHOLE KUOL

SHEPPARTON SENSATION MAKES ALL STAND UP AND TAKE NOTICE AFTER HE BANGS HOME ANOTHER GOAL

- By LIAM NASH

Shepparton’s inevitable goal threat Alou Kuol is building a serious case for a first team call up with yet another goal in Germany for Stuttgart II.

Kuol scored his fourth of the season overnight on Wednesday, lashing home his side’s third against Pirmasens in round seven of the Regional liga.

It took plenty of poise and polish — principles perhaps not ingrained in his game a year ago — to put his side 3-0 up and was a pageant of his evolution since swapping Mariners yellow for Stuttgart red.

Latching on to a lofted pass down the left flank in the 54th minute, Kuol brushed his man aside before standing on the ball in a classic exhibition of striker’s hold up play.

A split second later it was in the net.

Dragging onto his weaker side, Kuol whipped a shot across the face of the goal, licking paint as the ball cannoned off the post and in.

His side had to survive a late scare as Pirmasens rallied back to 3-2, however, Stuttgart held firm to claim its third consecutive win of the month.

Kick-starting that run was none other than Kuol himself.

The 20-year-old drilled in the sealer during a 4-2 win over top of the table Mainz on September 3 and with Wednesday’s strike taking his tally to four, he now remains hot property as Stuttgart II’s top scorer.

He has trained with the senior side in weeks past, even featuring in a friendly earlier in the month and could well make his first team debut this season if his freakish scoring run continues.
