MOVE it, boss is here

-

MOVE — Kialla’s new Museum of Vehicle Evolution — has had a disrupted start to life, opening for a week then closing for another lockdown.

The museum is open again and a star of the show car world has returned, perhaps for one last time.

XBoss was originally an XB Falcon coupe.

That was before imagination and the skills of master builders like Shepparton’s own Greg Maskell were let loose.

The owners are from Perth, but the car has been a resident of Shepparton.

That is likely to change later this year when XBoss goes to auction, so Oddie suggests you don’t miss the chance to see it.

Do yourself a favour

One of the first visitors to MOVE was Federal Member for Nicholls Damian Drum, who had a vested interest, having helped secure $2.5 million in federal funding for the project.

As pollies do, Drummy did a Facebook post to tell constituents about it all — and he invoked rock guru Molly Meldrum, advising everyone to ‘‘do yourself a favour’’ and get out there for a look.

The worst part of the game

Oddie loves the odd-shaped ball game but trade period is not one of the best bits.

With leaks designed to lobby and force deals it is a rather distasteful process with all the sophistication of children swapping Wrigley’s footy cards in the playground.

The best part is on the way

Draft time is so different.

It is a joy watching young men and their families celebrating the start of AFL careers.

Hopefully this year it can return to being an event rather than a massive Zoom conference.
