Enjoy being pampered

- By Nicola Ceccato

Mother’s Day is just around the corner and in line with it, the Soroptimist Club will be spoiling the women of the Goulburn Valley with a pamper day.

On Thursday, the function rooms of the Peppermill Inn will be filled with businesses showcasing health and beauty products and services.

Women will be able to treat themselves to hand massages, henna treatment or even mini-facials, with various health and beauty products available to buy in addition to plants and craft items.

The event is in collaboration with the Shepparton Women’s Health Centre, which will be taking blood pressure tests and have a range of doctors speaking on the day.

The topics discussed will include: how to perform a selfbreast exam, the importance of bone density and looking after yourself.

In addition to this, a range of prizes has been donated for the lucky door prizes and raffle.

From pamper baskets to gift vouchers, there’ll be something for everyone.

Besides being a day to spoil yourself, the event is also running for a good cause, with any funds raised going towards a chosen community charity.

Organiser Jeanette Berry said a lot had changed since they started the pamper day, with the event being now for any woman looking for a break.

“We just thought we'd try it some years ago ... this is our fifth year running it,” Mrs Berry said.

“Back then it was to get women that had just moved to the Goulburn Valley to come out and communicate with others and encourage them to mix. Now’s it’s for anyone.”

▯ The women’s pamper day is on Thursday from 10am to 3pm in the Peppermill Inn function rooms at 7900 Goulburn Valley Hwy. Gold coin donation is required for entry.
