Warsaw’s palatial Hotel Europejski, built by Enrico Marconi in 1857, has been painstakingly restored to its pre-war glory over the last four years in preparation for a triumphant reopening in June 2018. Taking charge of the management the property – and, with it, over 160 years of history and heritage – is the illustrious Raffles Hotels & Resorts brand, whose own history began just 30 years after the Europejski’s with Raffles Singapore. The fully restored Polish icon features 106 rooms and suites – including a 293-square-metre Presidential Suite complete with a 19th-century piano – and has retained its location on Warsaw’s Royal Route with views onto the Old Town and the Presidential Palace. Gourmet options range from modern Polish cuisine at the Europejski Grill to the signature Long Bar, and almost 500 artworks by Polish artists are displayed throughout the hotel.
