Historic masterpiece
The timepieces of Abraham-Louis Breguet fascinated 18th-century French society, with few more entranced by his technical prowess than MarieAntoinette. She owned a number of his self-winding pieces, but it was No. 160 that was meant to have been the most spectacular. Sadly, this pocket watch, laden with every complication then known to man, was not completed until 1827, 44 years after the order was placed. The piece was recreated in 2008, and today stands as a monument to the skill and quality of every creation produced by the House of Breguet. POA breguet.com
