Here’s a unique way to make a gin: start with a Christmas pudding, preferably made from your mum’s old recipe. Then put it in the basket of your still, and distil a spirit. That’s exactly what Cam Mackenzie, head distiller at Four Pillars, did to produce the Melbourne-based brand’s line of Christmas gins for this year. While the flavour is the main event (Cam even suggests pouring a dash over your Christmas pudding), we’d be remiss not to mention the splendid visuals – the psychedeli­c labels on this year’s run of bottles were designed by Melbourne-born, Berlin-based artist Lucy Dyson. fourpillar­sgin.com
