Signature Luxury Travel & Style
Ultimate luxury hike
Experience the full majesty of New Zealand’s Milford Sound and Mount Aspiring National Park on Walk into Luxury’s signature Blanket Bay Walk.
The Milford and Routeburn tracks snake through some of the most breathtaking natural wonders in the world. Ancient beech woodlands, cascading fiords and lush green valleys fringe Lake Wakatipu, with the snow-capped peaks of the Southern Alps forming a dramatic backdrop.
The extraordinary four-day guided Blanket Bay Walk by Walk into Luxury takes in the World Heritage Site’s most awe-inspiring scenery and sets new standards for luxury and indulgence.
Guests stay at the five-star Blanket Bay Lodge, consistently voted one of the world’s best lodges with its beautiful stone-and-timber architecture, log fires and floor-to-ceiling windows.
Set on the lakeshore, a 45-minute drive from Queenstown, it’s become famous for exceptional service and unsurpassed comfort. The outdoor pool, hot tub and spa are a perfect antidote to an active day on the trail.
In the evenings, pre-dinner drinks and canapés are followed by a five-course degustation feast, different each day.
On the first day, guests enjoy a scenic boat cruise on the picturesque Dart
River with views of Mount Earnslaw and the Routeburn Valley. Back at the lodge, your Walk into Luxury host will welcome you with drinks in the lounge and a map briefing before dinner.
The following morning, a helicopter takes you on an unforgettable flight over the mountains around Milford Sound before a boat transfer to Sandfly Point, the start of the nine-kilometre Milford Track walk to Giant’s Gate Waterfall, crossing a classic swing bridge on the way to a picnic lunch.
After a return flight over the lake, it’s time for sundowner drinks and a special ‘wine cave’ dinner.
All of day three is spent on the Routeburn Track, considered New Zealand’s best day walk. A relaxing massage before your evening meal is a great way to unwind.
On the final morning, a helicopter transports you to an unspoilt alpine wilderness for a walk past roaring waterfalls and tussock-covered meadows to the overhanging blue ice of Mount Earnslaw Glacier.
It’s an unforgettable four days exploring the best of New Zealand by day and staying in the ultimate lap of luxury by night.
