Not only will th­ese su­per cosies brighten up your morn­ings, they’ll also keep your break­fast toasty while you’re snaf­fling choco­late first thing. Or is that just us?

NOTES

The Egg Cosies are worked us­ing the amigu­rumi method. Work in a con­tin­u­ous spi­ral with­out clos­ing off each round with a slip stitch. You may find it help­ful to place a marker in the first st of each round and move it up as you work.

When chang­ing colour, twist the ends of the two colours to­gether. Pick up the new colour in the last yrh of the pre­vi­ous stitch.

BA­SIC COSY PAT­TERN

FOR KIWI, AP­PLE AND WA­TER­MELON Ch3, ss to first ch to join in a ring.

Round 1 (RS) Ch1, 6dc in ring.

Round 2 2dc in each st around. [12 dc]

Round 3 (2dc in next st, dc in next st) around. [18 dc]

Round 4 (2dc in next st, dc in each of next 2 dc) around. [24 dc]

Round 5 (2dc in next st, dc in each of next 3 dc) around. [30 dc]

Rounds 6-12 Dc in each st around. [30 dc]

Round 13 Dc in each st around, ss to first st to join. [30 dc]

Fas­ten off and weave in all ends.

KIWI EGG COSY

Fas­ten off leav­ing a long tail for at­tach­ing to Cosy.

AP­PLE LEAF

Row 1 (RS) Us­ing Pis­tache, ch8, dc in 2nd ch from hook, htr in next ch, tr in each of next 3 ch, htr in next ch, (dc, ss) in last ch. Fas­ten off leav­ing long end for sewing.

TO FIN­ISH

Us­ing the im­age as a guide and with RS fac­ing, sew the Stem and Leaf to the top of the Cosy.

WA­TER­MELON EGG COSY

Us­ing the im­age as a guide and with RS fac­ing, em­broi­der back stitches in Noir onto the Crim­son sec­tion of Cosy to give the im­pres­sion of seeds.

Round 3 Ch2, 2-tr clus­ter in same st, ch1, (3-tr clus­ter in next st, ch1) 13 times, ss to top of first clus­ter to join.
