SUMMER WRAP

Watch the sun go down in style, wrapped in this gorgeous shawl with stunning weave detail in a range of rustic shades.

NOTES

Make a base for the Wrap in a mesh pattern, then work vertically through the mesh, starting at Row 1 of the Base Section and ending on the last row of the Base Section for each row of the Vertical Weave. Finally, work horizontal­ly across the mesh to create a beautiful woven wrap.

BASE SECTION

Using Yarn A, ch92.

Row 1 (RS) Tr into 6th ch from hook, (ch1, skip 1, tr into next ch) repeat to end, turn,

fasten off. [45 sts]

Join Yarn B.

Row 2 Ch4 (counts as tr and ch1 throughout), skip st at base of ch, skip ch-1 sp, tr into next tr, (ch1, skip ch-1 sp, tr into next tr) repeat to end working last tr into fourth ch of beg ch5, turn.

Repeat Row 2 until the piece measures 237cm, following this colour sequence for each row: Yarn E, Yarn E, Yarn A, Yarn C, Yarn A, Yarn A, Yarn D, Yarn D, Yarn A, Yarn B, Yarn F, Yarn F, Yarn A, Yarn A, Yarn B, Yarn D, Yarn D, Yarn A, Yarn C, Yarn A, Yarn A, Yarn D, Yarn D.

VERTICAL WEAVING

With RS facing, join Yarn E to the first ch-1 sp on the foundation chain.

Row 1 Ch1, ss into first ch-1 sp from Row 1 of Base Section, *ch1, ss into ch-1 sp of next row of Base Section; repeat from * to end.

Fasten off.

Join Yarn E to next ch-1 sp on Row 1 of the Base Section.

Row 2 *Ch1, ss around ch-1 sp on next row of Base Section; repeat from * to end.

Fasten off.

Rows 3-44 Repeat Row 2 in the following colour sequence; Yarn F, A, A, B, B, C, A, D, D, D, E, A, B, E, E, A, F, F, B, A, D, A, C, C, E, A, E, E.

HORIZONTAL WEAVING

Make a ch measuring 45cm long, place a stitch marker in the last stitch, do not fasten off. Weave the chain through Row 2 of the Base Section, going under and over the tr stitches of the Base Section and the ch-1 sp of the Vertical Weaving. Once the ch is in place you can make it to size by either undoing or adding a few ch. Sew the chain into place at either end. Use the following colour and filling sequence referenced by the row number of the Base Section.

Row 2 Using Yarn B, weave this ch under each tr and over each vertical weaving line.

Row 3 Leave this row empty.

Row 4 Using Yarn E, weave this ch under each tr and over each vertical weaving line.

Row 5 Leave this row empty.

Row 6 Using Yarn C, weave this ch under each tr and over each vertical weaving line.

Row 7 Using Yarn F, weave this ch over each tr and under each vertical weaving line.

Row 8 Leave this row empty.

Row 9 Using Yarn D, weave this ch under each tr and over each vertical weaving line.

Row 10 Using Yarn A, weave this ch over each tr and under each vertical weaving line.

Row 11 Leave this row empty.

Row 12 Using Yarn B, weave this ch under each tr and over each vertical weaving line.

Row 13 Using Yarn E, weave this ch over each tr but under each vertical weaving line.

Row 14 Leave this row empty.

Row 15 Using Yarn A, weave this ch under each tr but over each vertical weaving line.

Row 16 Leave this row empty.

Row 17 Using Yarn F, weave this ch under each tr but over each vertical weaving line.

Row 18 Using Yarn E, weave this ch over each tr but under each vertical weaving line.

Row 19 Leave this row empty.

Row 20 Using Yarn D, weave this ch under each tr but over each vertical weaving line.

Row 21 Leave this row empty.

Row 22 Using Yarn C, weave this ch under each tr but over each vertical weaving line.

Row 23 Using Yarn B, weave this ch over each tr but under each vertical weaving line.

Row 24 Leave this row empty.

Row 25 Using Yarn A, weave this ch under each tr but over each vertical weaving line.

Row 26 Using Yarn D, weave this ch under each tr but over each vertical weaving line.

Row 27 Leave this row empty.

At Row 28 start back from the beginning of the sequence and repeat to the end of the Wrap.

TO FINISH

Weave in all ends and block to measuremen­ts.
