CAROLINA GUZMAN
Amigurumi designer and blogger Carolina told us about the beginnings of her love for crochet and her sources of inspiration: “My journey with a hook and yarn has been slow but exciting – from a very young age I learnt from my mother and grandmother, who taught me the foundations of this wonderful world. Little by little, I learned about techniques and patterns, developing my own colourful and fun style in my designs.
“My daughter Clara was my first source of inspiration! She is super creative and keeps coming up with tales and stories full of incredible characters. Then her sister Alice came into our lives. We spend many afternoons drawing, colouring and creating new stories. My inspiration is my love for crochet and my family.
“I'm a crochet addict! When I'm not designing or developing a new project, to relax – I crochet. I have other hobbies and interests, of course, but none can be compared to my yarn and my hook. I always have them to hand.
“I think that my greatest success in my crochet life so far is knowing that, in many cases, my patterns for toys, hats, blankets and more make other people a little bit happier. I have received messages with incredible and wonderful stories that have made me feel that all my work is worthwhile. This makes me feel very happy.”
