ABBREVIATIONS
JM (join motif) The motifs are joined together at the corner and midway along one side as follows: when you reach a corner, ch1, take the hook out of the work and insert in the chain space of the adjoining piece from back to front, insert hook back into working loop and ch1. When joining midway, take the hook out of the work, insert it in the space between two stitches, slip the hook back into the working loop and continue the round

NOTES
The blanket is made by joining motifs into strips. Each strip is a horizontal row of motifs; refer to the image opposite. There are 11 strips as described below. When making strips containing Hexagons, make the Hexagons first, and then join the other motifs as you go to complete the strip. Other than the Hexagon motifs, all other motifs are joined as you go on the final round. The Strips are worked in the following order: Strip C, Strip A, Strip D, Strip B, Strip D, Strip A, Strip D, Strip B, Strip D, Strip A, Strip C.
Strip A (make 3) *Square motif, Hexagon motif; repeat from * 4 more times ending with a Square motif. (11 motifs)
