Once you’ve hooked up this on-trend tote, you’ll be head­ing to the shops just to show it off. Kate’s rich fo­liage re­ally pops off the pink back­ground. Jun­gle chic, baby.

NOTES

The Tote is made up of a front and back Panel, and two Han­dles. There are 5 Leaf Mo­tifs sewn to the Front Panel of the Tote.

TOTE PAN­ELS MAKE 2

Make 1 Panel in For­est and 1 in Pe­ony Pink. Us­ing For­est, ch68.

Row 1 Dc in the sec­ond ch from hook, *tr in next ch, dc in next ch; re­peat from * across, turn. [67 sts]

Row 2 Ch1, (tr in next st, dc in next st) 33 times, tr in last st, turn.

Row 3 Ch1, (dc in next st, tr in next st) 33 times, dc in last st, turn.

Rows 4-76 Re­peat Rows 2-3, do not turn at the end of the fi­nal row.

EDGE

Round 1 Ch2, dc into the last st of Row 76, dc into each row end, (dc, ch2, dc) into the cor­ner, dc evenly across bot­tom edge of Tote, (dc, ch1, dc) into next cor­ner, dc into each row end. Fas­ten off.

Re­peat the in­struc­tions for the Tote Panel and Edg­ing us­ing Pe­ony Pink.

HAN­DLES MAKE 2

Us­ing For­est, ch100.

Row 1 Dc in the sec­ond ch from hook, (tr in next ch, dc in next ch) re­peated across, turn. [99 sts]

Row 2 Ch1, (tr in dc, dc in tr) re­peated across, end­ing with a tr, turn.

Row 3 Ch1, (dc in tr, tr in dc) re­peated across, end­ing with a dc, turn.

Rows 4-7 Re­peat Rows 2-3. Fas­ten off.

Sew the end of 1 Han­dle to the first Tote Panel, 5cm from the edge. Sew the other end of the Han­dle 5cm from the op­po­site edge on the same Tote Panel. Use im­age as a guide. Sew the sec­ond Han­dle to the other Tote Panel in the same way.

STAN­DARD LEAF MAKE 3

Make 1 in For­est and 2 in Green Beryl. Us­ing For­est, ch18.

TO FIN­ISH

AT­TACH LEAVES

Po­si­tion the Leaves onto the Pe­ony Pink Tote Panel us­ing the im­age as a guide. En­sure that the stems fall be­hind all of the Leaves. When you’re happy, tie off the stems. Sew the Leaves into place, stitch­ing around the edges of the Leaves and along the stem.

JOIN PAN­ELS

Place both Pan­els to­gether, WS to­gether, and join Pe­ony Pink into the top left cor­ner. Work­ing through the sts on both Pan­els: Round 1 Ch1, *dc in each st to the cor­ner, (dc, ch2, dc) into cor­ner; re­peat from * once more, dc in each st to top right cor­ner. Fas­ten off.
