JOIN MO­TIFS

Ar­range the Mo­tifs as shown in the di­a­gram on page 93. On each full Mo­tif, 9 sts on each side of the Mo­tif are joined; 7 htr sts plus 1 stitch from each of the ad­ja­cent ch-sps. This will leave the cen­tre ch of the ch-3 sp un­worked. On each Half Mo­tif, 9 sts on each side are joined; join to ev­ery st and ch along each side, and 1 of the ch on each side of the ch-3 sp, leav­ing the cen­tre ch of the ch-3 sp un­worked. Us­ing Vanilla, join Mo­tifs to­gether by plac­ing WS to­gether and work­ing a dcbl into the cor­re­spond­ing stitch of each Mo­tif through both lay­ers. There are two rows of join­ing, as shown by the bold dashed lines in the di­a­gram. Com­plete 1 row of join­ing. Fas­ten off, join the sec­ond row.

Row 5 Turn to RS and skip­ping the last 16 sts worked of the first Row 4 worked, re­join Vanilla in the next st (see di­a­gram), ch1 (does not count as st), dc in next 18 sts, htr in next 10 sts, tr in next 49 sts, htr in next 10 sts, dc in next 18 sts to bring you to the end of the long side.
