Arrange the Motifs as shown in the diagram on page 93. On each full Motif, 9 sts on each side of the Motif are joined; 7 htr sts plus 1 stitch from each of the adjacent ch-sps. This will leave the centre ch of the ch-3 sp unworked. On each Half Motif, 9 sts on each side are joined; join to every st and ch along each side, and 1 of the ch on each side of the ch-3 sp, leaving the centre ch of the ch-3 sp unworked. Using Vanilla, join Motifs together by placing WS together and working a dcbl into the corresponding stitch of each Motif through both layers. There are two rows of joining, as shown by the bold dashed lines in the diagram. Complete 1 row of joining. Fasten off, join the second row.
Rejoin Vanilla at the Round 1 starting point shown in the diagram.

When you reach the start of the round, ss to top of beg ch-3.

Rejoin Vanilla with RS facing in the first st of the opposite long side (in the st after the ch-3 sp), repeat Rows 3 and 4 on the opposite side to mirror the first Row 3 and 4 as follows:
Row 3 Ch2 (counts as htr), htr in each st to last 3 sts before next ch-3 sp, tr in next st, dtr in next 2 sts, turn.
