ABBREVIATIONS

For a full list, see page 92 Raymond Briggs’ The Snowman has a place in many family Christmas traditions, and this crocheted version is the perfect handmade gift for young fans of the original picture book, animation and the new novelisation. Happy 40th anniversary to The Snowman!

NOTES

The Snowman is worked in a continuous spiral, without closing off each round with a ss. You may find it helpful to mark the first st of the round, moving the stitch marker up as you work.

The Body of the Snowman is worked up from the Second Leg. Each foot has a plastic disc in the base to help maintain the shape. Cut 2 circles, approx 3cm in diameter, from thin plastic or cardboard to use as foot supports.
