For a full list, see page 92 Worked in a robust stitch pattern, this scarf has a twisted cable design down the centre with raised ridges either side. The yarn is one of those commemorating Novita’s 90th anniversary, and has a long colour repeat, with shifting tones giving a pretty effect.
To achieve a neater edge work Row 1 into the back of the foundation ch.
Using the 4.5mm hook, ch38.
Row 1 (WS) Tr in 4th ch from hook (skipped 3 ch counts as tr), tr in each ch across, turn. [36 tr]
Row 2 (RS) Ch3 (counts as tr throughout), tr in next 5 sts, FPtr in next st, tr in next 6 sts, ch1, skip 1 st, tr in next st, FPtr in next 6 sts, tr in next st, ch1, skip 1 st, tr in next 6 sts, FPtr in next st, tr in last 6 sts, turn.

Row 5 Repeat Row 3. Repeat Rows 4 and 5 until the Scarf measures 168cm, finishing with a WS row.
Last row Repeat Row 2.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Cut 7 lengths of yarn, approx 50cm each, and fold in half. Insert hook into the first ch from the foundation ch, put your hook through the folded tassel and pull through so that the centre of the strands come through the st but the ends stay on the other side of the st. Yrh with the ends of the tassels and pull through the centre of the tassel to secure. Skip the next 5 sts and repeat until you have 7 tassels along the end of the Scarf.
Repeat these instructions on the other end and trim the tassels to size.
