Hook this one up now to wear with long-sleeved tees and chunky tights and it will still be go­ing next spring, lay­ered over a light top. Time­less Chunky’s mix of acrylic with a touch of al­paca makes it a sturdy, soft and wash­able yarn for chil­drenswear.

Work a de­creas­ing row as shown be­low for 3(2: 5) rows, then work a plain row as shown be­low for the next 2 (1: 1) rows. Repeat these 5 (3: 6) rows a fur­ther 3 (7: 3) times. [30 (32: 36) sts, 23 (25: 27) rows from be­gin­ning]

Round 3 Ch3, tr in st at base of beg ch-3, tr in next st, (2tr in next st, tr in next st) 9 times, ss to top of beg ch-3. [30 sts]

Round 4 Ch3, tr in st at base of beg ch-3, tr in next 2 sts, (2tr in next st, tr in next 2 sts) 9 times, ss to top of beg ch-3. [40 sts]

Fas­ten off and weave in ends. TO MAKE UP

Place RS to­gether and sew the top of the shoul­ders to­gether. Sew the sides from the bot­tom up to where the arm­hole shap­ing starts.

Us­ing the photo as a guide, sew the pock­ets to the Front leav­ing ap­prox­i­mately 6cm open for the top Pocket open­ing.

Work the hem as three rows of tre­ble stitch, then be­gin shap­ing by de­creas­ing stitches
