SPARKLY COLLAR & CUFFS

Upcycle a simple top for a glittery look for party season with sparkly King Cole Cosmos. These are great projects for practising your lace skills, and they’re small enough to take on as a step up in your crochet skill journey.

COLLAR

Ch6.

Row 1 (RS) Tr in fifth ch from hook (creates ch-4 sp), tr in last ch, turn. [2 tr, ch-4 sp]

Row 2 (WS) Ch3 (counts as ch-3 sp), skip first tr, tr in next st, tr in ch-4 sp, turn.

[2 tr, 1 ch-3 sp]

Row 3 Ch4 (counts as ch-4 sp), skip first tr, tr in next st, tr in ch-3 sp, turn.

Rows 4-59 Repeat Rows 2-3.

[30 ch-4 sps, 29 ch-3 sps along each side after Row 59]

Fasten off.

Rotate the Collar to work along the ch-4 row ends, join yarn into the first ch-4 sp.

Row 60 (RS) Ch3 (counts as tr), (tr, ch1, 2tr) in same ch-4 sp, *dc in next row end, shell in next ch-4 sp; repeat from * across, turn. [30 shells, 29 dc]

Row 61 Ch5 (counts as tr, ch2), *dc in ch-1 sp in next shell, ch2,* tr in next dc, ch2; repeat from across, ending last rep at *, tr in last st, turn. [30 dc, 31 tr]

Row 62 Ch6 (counts as tr, ch3), *dc in next dc, ch3, dc in next tr, ch3; repeat from * to last dc, dc in last dc, ch3, tr in third ch of beg ch-5. [59 dc, 2 tr, 60 ch-3 sps]

Row 63 Ch7 (counts as tr, ch4), dc in next ch-sp, *ch4, dc in next ch-sp; repeat from * to last ch-sp, ch4, dc in last ch-sp, ch4, tr in third ch of beg ch-6, turn. [60 dc, 2 tr, 61 ch-4 sps]

Rows 64-65 Repeat Row 63.

Round 66 (RS) Working around the Collar, ch3 (counts as tr), 2tr in first ch-sp, 3tr in each ch-4 sp to corner, 6tr in corner ch-sp, 2tr in next 5 row ends, tr in next 2 sts from Row 59, 5tr in corner (mark first tr), (tr in next row end, 2tr in next row end) across to last row end, (3tr, ch10, ss to top of last tr, 2tr) in last row end, 2tr in next 5 row ends after corner, 3tr in same ch-sp as beg 2tr of Round, ss to top of beg ch-3 to join. [581 tr]

Fasten off and weave in ends.

TO FINISH

Sew a Button to the marked stitch from Round 66.

CUFFS

Ch5.

Row 1 (RS) Tr in fourth ch from hook, tr in next ch, turn. [2 tr, 1 ch-3 sp]

Row 2 (WS) Ch3, tr in next stitch, tr in ch-3 sp, turn. [2 tr, 1 ch-3 sp]

Rows 3-18 Repeat Row 2.

Ss to the base of the ch-3 sp from Row 1 to form Cuff, being careful not to twist. Work on in rounds.

Round 19 Ch4 (counts as tr, ch1), 2tr in same ch-3 sp, dc in next row end, *shell in next row end, dc in next row end; repeat from * to end of round, tr in first ch-sp, ss to top of beg ch-3 to join. [9 dc, 9 shells]

Round 20 Ch1 (does not count as st throughout), *dc in next ch-1 sp, ch2, tr in next dc, ch2; repeat from * around, ss to first dc to join. [9 dc, 9 tr, 18 ch-2 sps]

Round 21 Ch1, dc in first st, ch3, (dc, ch3) in each st across, ss to first dc to join.

[18 dc, 18 ch-3 sps]

Round 22 Ch1, dc in first ch-sp, ch3, (dc, ch-3) in each ch-3 sp around, ss to first dc to join. [18 dc, 18 ch-3 sps]

Rounds 23-26 Repeat Round 22.

Round 27 Ch3 (counts as tr), 4tr in first ch-sp, dc in next ch sp, (5tr in next ch-sp, dc in next ch-sp) around, ss to top of beg ch-3 to join. [45 tr, 9 dc]

Fasten off and weave in ends.

BOTTOM EDGE

Turn Cuffs around to work around bottom.

Round 1 (RS) Join yarn into any ch-3 row end, ch3 (counts as tr), 2tr in same ch-3 sp, (2tr in next row end, 3tr in next row end) around, ss to top of beg ch-3 to join. [45 tr]

Rounds 2-3 Ch3 (counts as tr), tr in each st around, ss to top of beg ch-3 to join.

Fasten off.

TO FINISH

Spray lightly with water and press on the WS with a cool iron.
