Here’s a quick reminder on changing colour and post stitches
Step 1 To change colour between stitches, work up to the final yrh of the last stitch in colour A, where the next stitch is colour B. For example, with a half treble: yrh, insert hook in next st, yrh and pull up a loop, stop. Twist together colours A and B (this stops a hole forming in the fabric).
Step 2 Yrh in B and pull through all the loops on the hook to finish the st. You’ll have a working loop of B ready to work the next B st. Place the unused yarn at the wrong side (WS) of the fabric (or on a right side (RS) row this is at the back (not shown)). Allow the yarns to strand (not loose or tight) across the WS.
Step 3 To work a front post (FP) stitch, yrh the right number of times for the stitch you’re working – for a FPdtr, yrh twice. Insert hook into the front of the fabric, around the post of the next st, and out the front again (as shown). Yrh hook and pull up a loop, then work the st as usual – for a FPdtr, (yrh and pull through 2 loops) 3 times. Front post sts sit at the front of the row and are raised up compared to standard sts.
Step 4 Work a back post (BP) stitch in the same way as a FP st, but this time, insert the hook into the back of the fabric, around the post of the next stitch, and out the back again (as shown). Complete as for a FP st. Back post sts sit at the back of the row and are raised up at the back.
