Rounds 1-5 (RS) Repeat Rounds 1-5 of Base using the following colour combinations: Make 2 using Yarn D for Round 2, Yarn B for Round 3 and Yarn E for Rounds 4-5. Make 2 using Yarn C for Round 2, Yarn F for Round 3 and Yarn E for Rounds 4-5. Round 6 Ss in each st around.

Fasten off leaving a long tail.

PAIR OF LEAVES (MAKE 4)

Using Yarn A, ch6.

Row 1 (RS) *Dc in second ch from hook, htr in next ch, dc in next ch, ss in next ch** (leave last ch unworked), ch5; repeat from * to **, ss in last unworked ch from foundation ch.

Fasten off leaving a long tail.

TO MAKE UP

Take one Circle and, using the tail, sew this to another circle over 2 sts of Round 5. Continue to join all 4 Circles in the same way so that you have a ring of Circles to fit around the cup. Join the bottom of each Circle to the WS of Round 12 of the Base.

Sew each Pair of Leaves onto the RS of the Base, directly below each Circle. The Leaves should be positioned between Rounds 8-11 of the Base. You can use the images as a guide. Using Yarn A, sew a line from Round 1 of each Circle to the leaves. We’ve used a backstitch, then worked over this by weaving the yarn through the backstitches.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

GRANNY SQUARE SLEEVE

BASE

Using Yarn A, make a magic loop.

Rounds 1-9 (RS) Repeat Rounds 1-9 of Circle Flower Sleeve Base, ending Round 9 with a ss. [42 sts]

Change to Yarn G.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

Round 2 (Ch2, ss in next st) 8 times. [8 ch-2 sps]

Fasten off.

Join either Yarn E or B as described above in any ch-2 sp.

Round 3 *(Ch1, htr, tr, htr, ch1, ss) in ch-2 sp, ch2, skip ch-2 sp, ss in next ch-2 sp; rep from * 3 times more, place stitch marker in last tr. [4 petals, 4 ch-2 sps]

Join Yarn G in marked st.

Fasten off.

Note that the last side of Round 5 includes extra stitches to accommodate the curve at the top of the Sleeve.

TO MAKE UP

Using tails, sew Squares into a ring alternating the Yarn E and Yarn B squares, ensuring the sides with the extra stitches are along the top. Join Yarn G in any st at the top.

Round 1 Ch1, dc in same st, dc in each st and ch-2 sp around. Fasten off.

Repeat Round 1 along the bottom, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Using the long tail, whipstitch the Granny Square ring to the Base with WS together.
