DIAMOND THROW
Diamonds as far as the eye can see are what’s in store with Esme Crick’s throw
This throw is no diamond in the rough, but a superbly polished piece designed to dazzle. Use sapphire blue or ruby red yarn and you’ll still have a blanket of jewels.
NOTES
You can substitute any DK yarn for this project. Throw is worked in the mosaic style. Change colour every 2 rows, you can carry the yarns up the side of the Throw as this will be worked over on the Edging.
There is a Chart on page 96, which you should refer to when making the Throw.
Each row on the Chart should be worked twice: first from right to left as a RS row, then read left to right as a WS row. Each plain small square represents 1dc on all RS and WS rows. Where a second colour appears on a row, work the chain length shown on both RS and WS rows. When working the next RS row in a new colour you will need to work an mtr into the skipped st 3 rows below, working in front of the ch-sps. On the next WS row work a dc st in all mtr from the row below.
The repeat section on each row needs to be worked 5 times in total.
The first few rows of the Chart have been written out in full to guide you.
