All squares to measure 12.5x14cm (5x6 in)

Blanket measures approx 50cmx70cm (19 x27 in)

ABBREVIATI­ONS

puff st (Yrh, insert hook in st indicated, yrh and pull loop up to height of current row) 5 times, yrh and pull through all loops on hook

NOTES

Blanket is made up of 20 Squares, which are joined together at the end. Each Square is worked in rows throughout.

When working puff stitches, push them out to the RS.

You could use any DK yarn in this pattern but it may affect the finished measuremen­ts.

SQUARE A MAKE 10

Make 6 using Natural and 2 each using Blackcurra­nt and Mist.

Ch19.

Row 1 (RS) Htr in third ch from hook and each ch across, turn. [17 sts]

Row 2 (WS) Ch2 (counts as htr throughout), (htr in next 2 sts, puff st in next st, htr in next 2 sts) 3 times, htr in final st, turn.

Row 3 Ch2, htr in each st across, turn.

Row 4 Ch2, htr in next 4 sts, puff st in next st, htr in next 5 sts, puff st in next st, htr in final 5 sts, turn.

Row 5 As Row 3.

Row 6 Ch2, htr in next 7 sts, puff st in next st, htr in next 8 sts, turn.

Row 7 As Row 3.

Row 8 Ch2, htr in next 2 sts, puff st in next st, htr in next 3 sts, puff st in next st, htr in next st, puff st in next st, htr in next 3 sts, puff st in next st, htr in final 3 sts, turn.

Row 9 As Row 3.

Rows 10-11 As Row 6-7.

Rows 12-13 As Rows 4-5.

Rows 14-15 As Rows 2-3.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

SQUARE B (MAKE 10)

Make 6 using Natural and 2 each using Blackcurra­nt and Mist.

Ch19.

Row 1 (RS) Tr in third ch from hook and each ch across, turn. [17 sts]

Row 2 (WS) Ch3 (counts as tr throughout), (dc in next st, tr in next st) 8 times, turn.

Row 3 Ch1 (does not count as st throughout), dc in first st, (tr in next st, dc in next st) 8 times, turn.

Repeat Rows 2-3 until Square measures 14cm long.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

TO MAKE UP

Using the image as a guide, join the Squares together. Nadia joined them with a dc seam with RS facing, but you can join them using your preferred method. To work a dc seam: place 2 Squares together and work a row of dc through the edges of both Squares to join.

BORDER

With RS facing, join Natural at beg of a short edge.

Round 1 (RS) Ch2 (does not count as st), 71tr across to corner, ch2, skip corner, 94tr across to next corner, ch2, skip corner; rep from * once more, ss to beg tr.

Fasten off and weave in ends.
