wool, 100g/166m), 1 skein of Sullom (010) ■ A 4mm (US G/6) hook

■ A 3.5 (US E/4) hook

■ Stitch markers

TENSION

15 sts and 9 rows measure 10x10cm (4x4in) over patt using a 4mm hook, or size needed to obtain correct tension

MEASUREMEN­TS

Wrist Warmers measure approx 20cm (7 in) in circumfere­nce and 23cm (9in) long

NOTES

Wrist Warmers are worked in long rows and seamed together at the end.

Edging is worked around the upper edge.

WRIST WARMERS RIGHT HAND

Using a 4mm hook, ch36.

Row 1 (WS) Htr in second ch from hook and each ch across, turn. [35 sts]

Rows 2-3 Ch1 (does not count as st throughout), htr in bl of each st across, turn.

Row 4 (RS) Ch2 (does not count as st throughout), tr in first st, (skip 3 sts, dtr in next st, tr in 3 skipped sts working behind dtr) 8 times, tr in final 2 sts, turn.

Row 5 Ch2, tr in first 2 sts, (skip 3 sts, dtr in next st, tr in 3 skipped working in front of dtr) 8 times, tr in final st, turn.

Rows 6-7 As Rows 4-5.

Rows 8-18 Ch1, htr in bl of each st across, turn. Fasten off.

LEFT HAND

Using a 4mm hook, ch36.

Row 1 (RS) Htr in second ch from hook and each ch across, turn. [35 sts]

Rows 2-12 Ch1 (does not count as st throughout), htr in bl of each st across, turn.

Row 13 Ch2 (does not count as st throughout), tr in first st, (skip 3 sts, dtr in next st, tr in 3 skipped sts working behind dtr) 8 times, tr in final 2 sts, turn.

Row 14 Ch2, tr in first 2 sts, (skip 3 sts, dtr in next st, tr in 3 skipped working in front of dtr) 8 times, tr in final st, turn.

Rows 15-16 As Rows 13-14.

Rows 17-18 As Row 2. Fasten off.

TO MAKE UP

Using a 3.5mm hook, join yarn in first row-end across short edge of Wrist Warmer.

Row 1 (RS) Ch1, 24dc evenly across, ss to beg dc to join the top of the Wrist Warmer.

Row 2 (RS) Ch1, dc in each st around, ss to beg dc.

Position over your hand and place markers to mark out thumb space; this should be approx 10 sts wide. With WS facing you, seam the sides leaving the space for the thumb.

Weave in all ends.
