Take that changeable weather in your stride when wearing this hooded sweater. The V-neck means it’ll work with polos and collars, and all sleeve types will t through the wide arm design.

NOTES

Top is worked from the base of the Back up to the neck. The Front is worked down from the neck edge.

The Hood is made separately and joined to the Sweater at the end.

SWEATER BACK RIB

Using a 5mm hook, ch72 (84: 96).

Row 1 (WS) Tr in fourth ch from hook and each ch across, turn. [70 (82: 94) sts]

Row 2 (RS) Ch3 (counts as tr throughout), tr in next st, (FPtr around next 2 sts, tr in next 2 sts) rep across to end, turn.

Row 3 Ch3, tr in next st, (BPtr around next 2 sts, tr in next 2 sts) rep across to end, turn.

Rows 4-9 Rep Rows 2-3 another 3 times. Row 10 As Row 2.

BACK

Change to 5.5mm hook.

Row 11 Dc in first st, dsst across, to final st, ss in final st turn.

Row 12 Ch3, tr in bl of each st across, turn.

Rows 13-22 Rep Rows 11-12 another 5 times. SLEEVES AND UPPER BACK

The Sleeves are added over the next row with a chain on each side. One side is worked at the end of the row and the other is added by using a separate ball of yarn.

Row 23 Dc in first st, dsst across to end, ch22, turn.

Using a second ball of yarn ss to beg ch-1 from Row 23, ch20. Fasten off.

Cont on from end of Row 23.

Row 24 Tr in fourth ch from hook and each ch across, tr in bl of each st across to next ch, tr in each ch across, turn. [110 (122: 134) sts]

Rows 25-50 Rep Rows 11-12 another 13 times. Row 51 Dc in first st, dsst across to final st, ss in final st, turn. FRONT

The Front is worked off the Back in 2 pieces to the end of the Neckline Shaping.

Pm in the 38th (44th: 50th) st across and in the 72nd (78th: 84th) st.

RIGHT NECKLINE SHAPING

Row 52 Ch3, tr in bl of each st to marker, including marked st, turn. [38 (44: 50) sts]

Row 53 Dc in first st, dsst across to last st, ss in last st, turn.

Row 54 Ch3, tr in bl of each st to final st, 2tr in bl of last st, turn. [39 (45: 51) sts]

Row 55 Dc in first st, dsst across to last st, ss in last st, turn. Rows 56-59 Rep Row 54-55 twice more.
