■ Any DK yarn in cream, grey, bright pink, light pink, red, green and yellow

■ A 4mm (US G/6) hook

■ A 3.5mm (US E/4) hook

MEASUREMENTS NOTES STRAWBERRY DAIQUIRI SQUARE

Using a 4mm hook and cream, ch18. Square measures approx 12x12cm (4¾x4¾in) Square is worked in rows. All other parts are made separately and sewn in place at the end. Row 1 Htr in third ch from hook and each ch across, turn. [16 sts]

Rows 2-12 Ch2 (does not count as st throughout), htr in each st across, turn.

Round 13 Ch1, *14dc across to corner, 3dc in corner; rep from * 3 times more, ss to beg dc.

Fasten off. GLASS

TOP

Using a 3.5mm hook and bright pink, make a magic loop.

Row 1 (RS) Ch2, 6htr in loop, turn. [6 sts] Row 2 (WS) Ch4 (counts as dtr), dtr in st at base of ch-4, 2tr in next st, 2htr in next 2 sts, 2tr in next st, 2dtr in final st, turn. [12 sts]

Row 3 Ch2, htr in first st, (2htr in next st, htr in next st) 5 times, 2htr in final st. [18 sts]

Fasten off.

With RS facing, join light pink in top-right corner.

Row 4 Ch1, 10dc evenly across top

end.

Fasten off.

With RS facing, join grey in top-left corner. Row 5 Ch1, dc in end of Row 4, (dc in next st, 2dc in next st) 9 times, dc in end of Row 4.

Fasten off.

BASE

Using a 3.5mm hook and grey, ch8.

Row 1 (RS) Dc in second ch from hook and next ch, htr in next 2 ch, ch5, ss in second ch from hook and next 4 ch, htr in same ch as prev htr, htr in next ch, dc in final 2 ch.

Fasten off. STRAWBERRY

FRUIT

Using a 3.5mm hook and red, make a magic loop.

Round 1 (RS) Ch2, 8htr in loop, ss to top of beg htr. [8 sts]

Round 2 Ch2, htr in first st, (htr, tr) in next st, (tr, htr) in next st, (htr, dc) in next st, (htr, tr) in next st, (tr, htr) in next st, htr in next 2 sts, ss to beg htr. Fasten off. TOP

Using a 3.5mm hook and green, ch4. Row 1 (RS) Ss in second ch from hook and next 2 ch, (ch4, ss in second ch from hook and next 2 ch) 4 times.

Fasten off. TO FINISH

Using the images as a guide, sew the Glass and Strawberry to the Square.

Using yellow, embroider the pips on the Strawberry.

Weave in all ends.
