NOTES
Square is worked in rounds with RS facing throughout. Colours are referred to as Yarns A and B.
BLUE SKIES
Using Yarn A, ch2.
Round 1 (RS) 8dc in second ch from hook, ss to beg dc. [8 sts]
Round 2 Ch2 (counts as first htr) htr in st at base of ch, 2htr in next 7 sts, ss to top of beg ch-2. [16 sts]
Round 3 Ch1 (does not count as st throughout), (dc, picot) in first st, *dc in the next 3 sts, (dc, picot) in next st; rep from * twice more, dc in final 3 sts, ss into beg picot. [16 sts, 4 picot]
Round 4 Ch3 (counts as first tr throughout), (2tr, ch3, 3tr) in same picot, *ch1, skip 1 dc, tr in next dc, ch1**, (3tr, ch3, 3tr) in next picot; rep from * 3 times more ending final rep at **, ss to top of beg ch-3. [28 sts, 4 ch-3 sps, 8 ch-1 sps]
Fasten off.
Join Yarn B in any ch-3 sp.
Round 5 (Beg pc, ch3, pc) in ch-3 sp, *ch1, (3tr into the next ch-1, ch1) twice**, (pc, ch3, pc) in next ch-3 sp; rep from * 3 times more end last rep at **, ss to top of beg pc. [32 sts, 4 ch-3 sps, 12 ch-1 sps]
Fasten off.
Join Yarn A in any ch-3 sp.
Round 6 Ch3, (2tr, ch3, 3tr) in same sp, *ch1, (3tr, ch1) in each ch-1 sp across to next ch-3 sp, (3tr, 3ch, 3tr) in ch-3 sp; rep from * 3 times more ending final rep at **, ss to top of beg ch-3.

■ Stitch marker

Square measures approx 10x10cm (4x4in)
NOTES
Square is worked in rounds with RS facing throughout. Milkshake is made separately and sewn in place at the end.
If you are making this for a child under 36 months, do not use safety eyes; instead, embroider eyes with black stranded cotton.
MY MILKSHAKE SQUARE
Using pink, make a magic loop.
Round 1 Ch3 (counts as tr throughout), 2tr in loop, ch2, (3tr in loop, ch2) 3 times, ss to top of beg ch-3. [12 sts, 4 ch-2 sps]
Rounds 2-4 Ch3, *tr in each st to ch-2 sp, (2tr, ch2, 2tr) in ch-2 sp; rep from * around, ss to top of beg ch-3. [60 sts, 4 ch-2 sps]
Fasten off and weave in ends.
MILKSHAKE
TOP
Using brown, make a magic loop.
Row 1 (RS) Ch1 (doesn’t count as st throughout), 3dc in loop, turn. [3 sts]
Row 2 (WS) Ch1, 2dc in each st across, turn. [6 sts]
Row 3 Ch1, dc in first st, (2dc in next st, 1dc) twice, 2dc in last st, turn. [9 sts]
Row 4 Ch1, dc in first st, (1dc, 2dc in next st, 1dc) twice, 1dc, 2dc in next st. [12 sts]
Fasten off.
CUP
Using white, make a magic loop.
Rows 1-4 As Rows 1-4 of Top. [12 sts]
Row 5 Ch1, dc in bl of each st across, turn.
Change to blue.
Rows 6-7 Ch1, dc in each st across, turn.
Change to white.
Rows 8-13 Ch1, dc in each st across, turn.
Row 14 Ch1, dc in fl of each st across.
Fasten off.
Insert safety eyes between Rounds 10-11, 4 sts apart.
STRAW
Using white, ch9.
Row 1 Ss in second ch from hook and next 7 ch.
Fasten off. TO FINISH
Using black stranded cotton, embroider the mouth. Using pink stranded cotton, embroider a small straight st below the eyes for the cheeks. Sew the Top to the unused bl from Row 13 of Cup.
Sew the Cup to the Square, stuffing as you join.
Sew the Straw to the Top. 16
