■ Any DK yarn in blue and pink ■ A 4mm (US G/6) hook MEASUREMEN­TS

Square is worked in a corner-tocorner (c2c) technique, working blocks diagonally across each row. Starting with 1 block in the first row, each row increases by 1 block to the halfway point. Then each row decreases by 1 block to the end. Change colour on the final yrh of st before colour change is indicated. Do not carry the yarn; instead ,wind off 2 balls of blue. There is a Chart on page 38 you will need to refer to for all colour changes. JOLLY JELLYFISH

Using Blue, ch6.

Row 1 (RS) Tr in fourth ch from hook and next 2 ch, turn.

Row 2 (WS) Ch6, tr in fourth ch from hook and next 2 ch, ss in next ch-3 sp, c2c block in ch-3 sp, turn. [2 c2c blocks]

Rows 3-4 Ch6, tr in fourth ch from hook and next 2 ch, (ss in next ch-3 sp, c2c block in ch-3 sp) rep across to end, turn. [4 c2c blocks]

Row 5 Ch6, tr in fourth ch from hook and next 2 ch, change to pink, ss in next ch-3 sp, c2c block in ch-3 sp, change to blue, (ss in next ch-3 sp, c2c block in ch-3 sp) rep across to end, turn.

[5 c2c blocks]

Rows 6-7 As Row 3, using Chart for all colour changes.

Row 8 Ss in first 3 sts, ss into ch-3 sp, c2c block in each ch-3 sp across, turn. [6 c2c blocks]

Rows 9-13 As Row 8 using Chart for all colour changes. [1 c2c block] Fasten off. TENTACLES (MAKE 5)

Using Pink, ch10.

Row 1 Dc in second ch from hook and each ch across, turn. Fasten off. TO FINISH

Use the image as a guide. Sew the Tentacles to the Square. Using black and white, embroider the facial details.

Weave in all ends.
