Square is worked in rounds with RS facing throughout. Colours are referred to as Yarns A and B. SHELLS & POSTS

Using Yarn A, ch5 and ss in last ch from hook to form a loop.

Round 1 (RS) Ch3 (counts as tr throughout), 11tr in loop, ss to top of beg ch-3. [12 sts] Fasten off.

Join Yarn B in sp between any 2 tr.

Round 2 (RS) Ch6 (counts as tr, ch3 throughout), 2tr in same sp, *ch1, skip next tr, FPtr around next st, ch1, skip next tr**, (2tr, ch3, 2tr) in sp between 2 tr sts; rep from * 3 times more ending last rep at **, tr in same sp as beg ch-5, ss to third ch of beg ch-6, ss into ch-3 sp. [20 sts, 4 ch-3 sps, 8 ch-1 sps]

Round 3 Ch6, 3tr in same sp, *ch3, FPtr around next FPtr, ch3**, (3tr, ch3, 3tr) in next ch-3 sp; rep from * 3 times more ending last rep at **, 2tr in same sp as beg ch-6, ss to third ch of beg ch-6, ss into ch-3 sp. [28 sts, 12 ch-3 sps]

Round 4 Ch6, 3tr in same sp, *ch3, tr in next ch-3 sp, FPtr around next st, tr in next ch-3 sp, ch3**, (3tr, ch3, 3tr) in next ch-3 sp; rep from * 3 times more ending last rep at **, 2tr in same sp as beg ch-6, ss to third ch of beg ch-6, ss into ch-3 sp. [36 sts, 12 ch-3 sps] Fasten off.

Join Yarn A in any ch-3 corner sp.

Round 5 Ch6, 3tr in same sp, *ch3, FPtr around next 3 sts, ch3**, (3tr, ch3, 3tr) in ch-3 sp; rep from * 3 times more ending last rep at **, 2tr in same sp as beg ch-6, ss to third ch of beg ch-6, ss into ch-3 sp. Round 6 Ch1 (does not count as st), *3dc in ch-3 sp, dc in each st to next ch-3 sp; rep from * around, ss to beg dc. [72 sts]

Fasten off and weave in ends.
