First side

Foundation row: 1 double crochet into 2nd chain from hook (counts as 1 stitch), 1 double crochet into each chain to end, turn. 14 double crochets. 1st row: 3 chains, 1 double crochet into 2nd chain from hook (counts as 1 stitch), 1 double crochet into next chain, 1 double crochet into each double crochet to last double crochet, 2 double crochets into last double crochet, turn. 17 double crochets. 2nd row: 1 chain (does not count as a stitch), 2 double crochets into first double crochet, 1 double crochet into each double crochet to last double crochet, 2 double crochets into last double crochet, turn. 19 double crochets. 3rd row: As 1st row. 22 double crochets.
