Using 5mm needles and Yarn A cast on 5 sts. Work 4 sts Patt Rib starting with P1 instead of 2 then 1 st Border. From Row 5 inc at the beg of rows as for collar no. 1. Work 1 ( 7: 7: 9: 7) rows on the 34 sts obtained then cast off all sts but work K2tog across row at same time.

Worked in 2 sections:

Cast on 32 ( 35: 37: 40: 42) sts using 7mm needles and Yarn B. Work in st st for 16 rows.

BACK-FRONT SLEVE Button

Next row ( RS) K0 ( 1: 1: 0: 2), k2tog across row. Work 1 row on the rem 16 ( 18: 19: 20:

22) sts then cast off. Work a 2nd identical piece.

FALSE POCKET BORDERS (2)

Cast on 29 sts using 5mm needles and

Yarn A. Work in Patt Rib for 6cm, starting with P1 instead of P2.

Next row ( WS) Cast off all sts.

BELT

Cast on 15 sts using 5mm needles and Yarn A.

Row 1 ( RS) K1, work 13 sts Patt Rib ( omitting the first P2 on RS rows).

Row 2 ( WS) Work 13 sts Patt Rib a ( omitting the last 2 sts on WS rows), P last st. When work measures 97 ( 105: 115: 125:

135) cm, cast off all sts.

Belt loop

Cast on 4 sts using 5mm needles and Baltic. Work in st st for 13cm then cast off all sts.

TO MAKE UP

Join shoulder seams. Join the 2 parts of the collar then sew to the neck edge from point X to point X ( see diagram on p20). Sew the revers collar no 1 to right front neck edge, then collar no 2 to left front neck edge. Join the short edges of the collar to the revers collar. Fold the revers collar to the right side and maintain position with 2 buttons sewed through both sections of work ( see photo). Sew sleeves into position, sew side and sleeve seams. Place the false pockets onto each front ( see photo). Sew the bottom of each pocket border in place with backstitch. Sew the short edges of each border. Sew a button onto each pocket border through the 2 thicknesse­s. Pass one end of the belt through the buckle, fold onto the wrong side at 2cm and sew seam. Join the short ends of the belt loop and slip belt through.
